So, I just set up a table at the entrance offering $50 for the ones I like and send the rest on in. Might find a diamond being turned in.

Whatever set up a table and offer $20 CASH Most would take cash instead of the kroger card, then make ur way to "The Kroger" turn the gun in and make urself $5 per transaction. Or keep the weapon if its worth keeping.

Yep...neat idea. But I wonder how long before they would be calling the police to have you escorted off the property?

There was talk of doing something similar here in Indy just recently. Might have been Walmart gift cards... Not sure what kind of idiot would fall for that, unless the gun was a real piece of crap and didn't work. :dunno:

They "FORGOT" to mention in the article, that a Police survelience team will record every vehicle and person who turns in any firearm, your ID is needed to process your no questions asked claim, and all firearms turned in are immediatly serial number checked and anything you do or have can further an investigation and lead to your arrest no questions asked. At least its not a STING!

Nice to see that they were not destroying the guns. If they were stolen, they'd be returned to the owner and the rest would be used for training by the police if possible. I'm guessing that anything nice, and not stolen, went home with an officer, or at least I hope it did. I'm not normally a fan of the buy-back scheme's like this, but the way this one was done may result in someone getting a stolen gun returned to them.
