My first red dot was a Vortex Strikefire II which gives the option of switching between red and green. I really thought I wanted green, but as with a lot of things, I didn't know what I didn't know. I rarely use it, although it does work better in the winter time where there is much less live vegetation around. So all my dots are red. I get a lot of star bursting of red dots (even my UH-1 holographic). Prism scopes avoid that. Etched reticle is nice, too. With the spitfire (or any etched reticle prism), there's an option of no illumination (black dot and two concentric circles) or red/green illumination. What’s the purpose of a 1x scope vs a dot sight?
