NAS Cecil Field in Jacksonville, FL. I was stationed at the Marine Baracks there at the time. I just got my orders to go to Jacksonville, NC and that was what we were celebrating.

yea that does suck..sucker punches suck, but if someone ask you what r u doin and you dont know them..id be ready for anything..it happens more often than people think especially in a younger crowd bar..accidentally catch someones eye and they instantly think you are starring or got a problem..hope ya feel better..BTW there are lot of people here that instantly go against everybody..i had everyone against me in one of my first threads...Again hope ya get better and keep an eye out for that guy to ask him a question.

That sucks. I've had friends ambushed in the same way... thing is, you never know how it's going to turn out... I haven't frequented "bars" in a long time.
When I was in my early teens I got sucker punched, broke my nose in 3 places and a nasal fracture. Funny thing is, it doesn't hurt for hours. Suckiest part is what feels like an eternity before you can regain control of yourself and get into the fight. Luckily like you I had a friend next to me that prevented the punk from whaling on me while I was dazed. I had a few hours in surgery a week later to repair it.
FWIW today, if my friend and I were walking down the street and some guys at random came up and did that to my friend, I'd immediately draw. No question about it, an unprovoked attack and a friend hitting the ground and it's 2v1... No way it doesn't fall under lawful self defense... assuming I pressed the trigger before they backed off. I'm too old to get into a street fight let alone a unprovoked one.

I hear that last night I was in the bar (Show-Me's) and these two guys were sitting there talking crap about glocks... This continued for 2 1/2 hours so I lost my cool and asked them what they thought they were doing, one turned so I blasted the first guy on the right the other guy stood up swung and missed, at that time someone said there was free beer at the bar at Terminal so off I went...

ok. ive seen two pictures of you now. in the first one, youre wearing sunglasses at night. this makes me want to punch you in the nose. in the second one, your hair looks dyed. this also makes me want to punch you in the nose.
