In a van, down by the river
A homeowner beat back a burglar with a golf club and apparently scared him right out of his shoes.
David A. Doody, 22, told police a man broke into is home on the 2400 block of Dell Zell Drive at 9:40 p.m. Monday.

Doody said when he noticed that a door was kicked in he grabbed a golf club and looked around the house, according to an Indianapolis Metropolitan police report.
In the kitchen he saw a man wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, a ski mask, black pants and gray tennis shoes.
Doody said he swung the golf club at the burglar, striking him several times while the man tried to stab him with a knife The man ran out the same door he had kicked in and headed south on Keystone Avenue.
Police investigating the burglary attempt found a gray tennis shoe on Keystone, which they suspect belongs to the burglar.
Doody said he thinks the burglar was an acquaintance who has accused him of stealing a gun.
    No arrests had been made

I wonder if it was a wood or an iron? I hear woods over penetrate but irons lack the stopping power. :D
