    Hello,

On my bike ride back from the bus stop this morning, I found a once-nice recurve bow just laying in the street. It's trash day. It looks like someone threw it away and it missed being dumped into the trash truck.

One of the limbs is damaged near the end, chipped and splintered.

How do I fix this? Just get new limbs? Is there anything else you'd advise? I have an old compound bow but know next to nothing about recurves except to not keep them strung. I've always wanted one, though.

    Any help?

    Thanks!

P.S. Did I overlook the bow forum, or do we just not have one?

Looks like a lawn mower chewed on that a little but nice find. Is there a name and model # on it?

It is a right handed bow. It looks like a Samik takedown. I would not try to repair the limb tip. Having that come apart at full draw would not be fun. Hopefully you can purchase new limbs. I would start by doing an internet search and then look at Lancaster Archery. They used to be dealers.

Advice from a guy (me) who almost lost an ear when my old wooden limb browning bow decided it was time to de-laminate:

DO NOT DRAW THAT BOW AT ALL!!!!!

Replace the limbs or use it as decor. Not safe to shoot as is.

Big FYI, never fire a bow without an arrow in it. Called dry fire and they can shatter. Since you are a newbie thought I would toss that out.

BTW it looks cool. New limbs may cost more than another garage sale bow.
