Forend rail mounted sling swivel?

Just purchased a Mossberg 500 with a tri-rail forend. There is a rear sling mount on the stock and no front mount. Is it common practice to mount a swivel stud on the rail on the forend/ I see that being an issue with the forend sliding and the shotgun falling off a shoulder. Am I worrying too much?

That seems like a bad idea. I'd consider drill & tapping the barrel nut at the end of the magazine tube.
