A few years back, I was shooting PMC Bronze, of which I'd bought cases of for the most reasonable pricing.

I shot some groups that I thought were OK with the PMC, then switched to a group with Speer Gold Dot LE duty ammo that I'd picked up for self defense. It was amazing how the groups shrank with the slightly more expensive spitzer rounds.

I shot some of that frontier ammo in my ruger American Ranch in 5.56. Wasn't happy with the accuracy. Good ol'e federal xm193 was more accurate.

PMC is great for the price, my handloads still do better. The Sierra Matchking HPBT 69gr of course performs the best.

left two targets 55gr PMC Bronze, Right target PMC X-TAC 62gr (XP193)which gave the best group from shooting bench and bipod.

And my first handloads of 69gr Sierra HPBT over 23.1 grains of 8208XBR (two upper right targets) gave the best groups. The other shots were various loads from 23gr to 23.8gr. All shots from a sled except for the far upper right with bipod.

Love the bench set up. Looks like you had a great day.

The Frontier stuff is growing on me. Been buying and shooting some of their 75 gr HPBT. That hollow point looks fun, I’d like to see what it does to a melon or water jugs :naughty:

Thanks (on the bench set up). It's solid with plenty of room for accoutrements. I am really liking the Frontier ammo. Decent price (relatively speaking), performs well and, being a Hornady subsidiary, I think QC is above par.

I was pretty happy just to have a decent day to get out and shoot a little. The new build performed well and I thought the groups were more than acceptable.

Plus, I had pizza for breakfast and went to Culvers for a Rueben at lunch... a day can't possibly get much better!!!

I got the new mount (thanks to Ruger_Ronin for suggesting it).
Re-sight the scope today. I put my old FerFrans CRD on the front end and ran the wonky Hexmags.

Nice firearm and nice groups! BUT what really caught my attention was that beautiful GROUP of chairs and shooting bench. Well done indeed! :wow:
