Back when the Springfield XDs first came out in 45 gap, I thought "Here's a second manufacturer making a 45 gap, it's got to work out now!" And I bought one.

I was wrong. And today I finally replaced it. Traded it in on an M&P 45. The trigger is a little rough, but some quality time with my dremel will fix that soon enough.

I've got an sw40ve that I've done trigger work on, so it shouldn't be too bad to polish and clean up. SW makes nice guns with good ergos, but the triggers are awful. I'd love to see a PPQ in 45, but that's a bridge too far.

Would a 1911 chambered in 45 gap be blasphemy?
A 1911 chambered in Glock Automatic Pistol would, indeed, be blasphemy since there is no benefit to the GAP over ACP that I can discern.

Look at the outside dimensions of any GAP pistol, and you'll find they're the same as the ACP variant. That said, finding GAP ammo is ... difficult at best.
