just curious if anyone can suggest a good place to hunt turkeys in the Southern area of IN? i see a lot of action in the Brown Co. area here, is that the place to go?

i'm a spring hunt veteran, never gone for fall birds. it's archery only up here, and i don't bow hunt.

any suggestions would be great, i'd even be willing to pay some for access to private land....

Some one just posted he saw hundreds on the road to Crane, get an Indiana map and find Crane. Now look at those green spots on the map near Crane. Stop at the Bedford HNF office while you are in the area and get maps of HNF that are detailed and up to date.

Get out your locator call and go out to those public land spots nearest to Crane and start trying to roost a bird.

Just a note it's archery only down here too until the end of October.

    Fall turkeys

I hunted this morning with a bow in brown county. I had 2 hens and 2 toms milling around my decoys for about an hour till one got tooooo close and now he is in the freezer!! I have heard there is actually good turkey hunting on the public side of atterbury if you know where to find them.
