Donald Trump, NJ agency partnered to take elderly widow’s home for limo parking

Donald Trump once used his influence in government to condemn an elderly widow's Atlantic City home, so that the land could transferred over to him so he could make a "limousine waiting area" for his elite clients at Trump Plaza.

Vera Coking was the property owner, and had raised her children there before the passing of her husband, and before the area was surrounded by towering casinos. When she was threatened for eviction by the New Jersey Casino Reinvestment Development Authority (CRDA), she resisted the land grab in court. The Institute for Justice took up Vera Coking’s case, as it embodied a prime example of abuse of property owners.

Her home is pictured to the left, and the gaudy Trump Plaza to the right.

Check out this interview with Trump and John Stossel. It really says it all.

“Everybody coming into Atlantic City sees that property,” Trump said. “And it’s not fair to Atlantic City and the people. They’re staring at this terrible house instead of staring at beautiful fountains and beautiful other things that would be good.”

Trump ended up losing this case, and Vera Coking kept her home. But Trump's true colors were put on display for all to see. He has no respect for the rights of others, and has always been eager to use his crony influence in government to bully Americans for his own profit. This man should never be allowed to be in power.

    Could be anywhere
The Donald has many more issues than this, but this topic can not be brought up enough.

If a fake video of Paul Ryan throwing grandma off the cliff was bad the reality of the Donald being all for Donald will look much much worse, a gift to the Dems.

The amusing part is that the Dems agree with him on this issue...but, of course, won't hesitate to use it to crucify him if they have to.

    He should write poetry.

nothing to say about this scumbag running an old lady out of her home?

    He didn't.

I don't need to dig up the details about the past, got you folks to do it for me, so my original question still stands. The answer right now seems to be not Trump.

Three types of political discourse going on lately.

Those that are doing nothing but trying to bash Trump - Media
Those that are doing nothing but supporting Trump - Limbaugh
Those of us that don't care about Trump, and would prefer to support/discuss viable candidates

It's overblown stories like this which don't pass the smell test, at least not in the way it's reported, that almost makes me want to support Trump....almost.

I could understand Trump not having a lot of patience with his time being wasted by a lawyer who was supposed to be getting productive work done, not milking herself--just another example of the notion of 'living your life' on your own time. After all, why should he be taken away from certainly having more to do than he can get done that day while the lawyer (figuratively) parks on a three-legged stool?

Why do you hate women? And liberty? And babies? And....women's liberty to nourish their babies?

About the best fake outrage I can muster at this hour.

    Between corn and soybean fields.
One thing I will say that I do like about Trump is his no-nonsense, no-BS attitude.

Plus his feud that he had with Rosie O'Donnel was hilarious / brutal.

He won't be elected, but he is forcing poeple to talk about issues that they'd probably otherwise not talk about I think, and if I am being honest, despite his flaws, he's certainly not the worst candidate running.

I still wish the 3rd party guys had the swing and pull to get non-stop around the clock main stream media coverage like the big ones do. I think most Americans would favor a 3rd party candidate if they had equal and fair coverage in the press when compared to the time the others get and the amount of mentions the others get.

I have no doubt it's the GOP establishment operatives that are leaking these types of stories to the media. They are frantically trying to dig up any dirt they can on the guy in an effort to derail his momentum.
