Have not seen that yet, but numbers and size have been dropping steadily here for years. Talked about that to the state forester when she was here this year to look over the new ground and she attributed it to CWD.

CWD has never been found in any deer in Indiana…. She must been thinking EHD which happens every year.

Easily confused by acronyms I am. ;)

I keep a few cameras out all year to check for trespassers, numbers are down, which I attributed to more hunting pressure from my southern border.

right on, thanks for the reminder

and yeah habitat is tough here. more and more woodlots, fallow fields, tree lines, fence rows, etc are being removed for industry, agriculture, or real estate. Indiana is already around 95% private land and even much of public land is underfunded and mismanaged.

Leopold said in the 30s that the best habitat is next to the best habitat. I’ve seen more trophy deer in IU Campus than I did in years of hunting Delaware County.

Fish where the fish are, hunt where the deer are, rabble rabble rabble

Common sight in my back field. More by my barn and front field.

This doesn't count the boys who travel separately. Date/time is off, my wife gets tired of setting them. This about 3 weeks ago.
