First of all, I am new to INGO, so hello. I am interested in guns very much, but being 16, I can't own a handgun yet. I have a few questions, as I intend to buy a firearm when I am of age.
This brings me to my question. Where do revolvers fit in to the conditions of carry? :draw:
I would assume c. 1 is possible for a double action trigger, but condition 2 is more common. Being probably one of the worst ideas, I'm assuming no one carries a revolver c. 3. Thanks for the answers.

a revolver would fall under a hand gun...

i for one sometimes carry a revolver.

He's talking about carrying a revolver in "Condition 3" or empty chamber, hammer uncocked, loaded magazine in weapon (or presumably with the other cylinders loaded, since there's no magazine in a revolver).

The "carry conditions" generally only refer to 1911-style pistols, but of course they can be more generally applied to all handguns. I carry a Springfield XD cocked and with one in the chamber. There is no manual safety to disengage.

Condition 0: round in chamber, hammer cocked, safety Off, loaded magazine
Condition 1: round in chamber, hammer cocked, safety On, loaded magazine
Condition 2: round in chamber, hammer uncocked, loaded magazine
Condition 3: empty chamber, hammer uncocked, loaded magazine in weapon
Condition 4: empty chamber, no magazine in weapon

To more directly answer your question. Modern SA/DA revolvers are carried loaded (all chambers) with the hammer down.

The only ones typically carried with the hammer over an empty chamber are older designs for which it's not safe to do so (ex. SA 45 Colt replicas).
