    The American Confederation of Tactical Shooters (www.actshooters.com) is gearing up for their annual prize match - the "Combat Rifle Championship."

    It is held at Centerline of Calhoun County:
    www.centerlineofcalhoun.org

    This year's Combat Rifle Championship will be held July 11 and 12 2009. The match fee will be $60. This match is only open to ACTS members, so non-members will have to join in order to shoot this match (1 year membership: $30). A portion of proceeds from this match will be used to make a donation to the Wounded Warrior Project.

    A dinner will be served Saturday evening, prices TBD. Camping will be available for $5 per person per night.

    Number of stages will be 9: 6 on Saturday and 3 on Sunday. Round count TBD.

    Shooters are encouraged to register early. Walk-on registrations will be accepted, however match fees increase to $85 for walk-on registration.

    This is the premier event of the year! Hope you can join us!

    ACTS is still in discussion with a few sponsors. I assume we'll have more before the event takes place. I'll update as I know more.

    This is a great match, if I did not have to work, would be there, so the last place prize is up for grabs!

    Seriously, this is the most difficult and challenging shooting course I have ever participated in.

    Whatever you do, be absolutely sure of your muzzle direction, I believe there were 8 guys DQ'd for breaking the 180 last year.

    It's a good time, practice strong hand / weak hand transitions, with rifles and pistols, and up close, like 2-3 yards cardboard, and out to 100 + yards.

    Practice a lot.
