I searched and could not find anything recent...

I am going to the Colts game on Sunday (free tickets with girl friend).

What are the experiences carrying anything that I may be able to protect myself with? If I wear a big belt buckle, will I be asked to remove it?

    Thanks

Women can't take purses in anymore. Your girlfriend will have to leave hers in the car or buy a clear plastic NFL bag for $20 which is basically a see through purse to put a phone, wallet, keys in. You can gamble with the belt buckle, but a knife or deadlier, I wouldn't try it.

That is what I was afraid of...get to walk half way across down town with nothing other than a phone for protecting us...

Went last week. Pretty thorough sweep with wand. Might have been able to get in with a DEEP conceal around the crotch, but 50/50 at best. We entered at South Gate and all lines were checked.

Thanks for the direct experience info.

Well I guess I will make sure we leave anything of any value locked up in the car...well except for $20 and our lives...

That's what the criminals are counting on!

I know...fortunately it will be daytime and a large crowd around.

Better take more than $20 if you both want anything to eat/drink.

Not planning on buying anything, planning on bringing my own water bottle...don't want to give them any of my hard earned money. Only going because the tickets are free.

Last time I went, last year and a couple of STL games over the past 2 years, wandings were there, but most of the wandings were "show" quality. Looks great, not effective.

If you are that scared of going to downtown Indy with several thousand other people and are worried that some criminal will randomly pick you out of the crowd to assualt/rob/molest, let me know and for a small fee I will escort you to and from the stadium.

You never know when you will be the next random victim. The crowd is the only mitigating factor. Will not be randomly walking around down town after the game until at least stopping back at the car...

Thanks for the offer, but I will pass...

Ankle carry increases your odds a touch.

IF I was even going to try, it would be my Sig 938 in a pocket holster crotch carried behind a nice hevy metal belt buckle...but it does not sound like that will likely work... Second option would be a nice tactical folder in same location since pocket knives are even off limits...not that I WANT to go up against a gun with a knife...

hmmmm....maybe it is time to look for a good ceramic knife...get past metal detectors...

I went to the Oakland game at the beginning of the season. I locked mine up in my car and to my surprise was not patted or checked with a wand when I entered. I was shocked, this is the only time I can say this has happened and would plan on getting checked at the next game I attend, but I wanted to share.

I went to a game earlier this month. No pat downs, but a pretty thorough wanding. I hang my keeps off a belt loop on the left side and clipped a knife to the inside of my pants behind that and my other behind the belt buckle. They went back to their respective pockets after we were through the gate. I don't feel the need to, but I'm sure I could have carried my P3AT or similar behind my belt buckle.

I CC 2 guns and 3 beers behind my belt buckle. And look good doing it.
