cheap waterproof fire starter tinder

most people have paper shredders at home and therefore lots of shredded paper. now you have a use for it. I made this for $6 if resourceful it's cheaper. anyways what you need

1.shredded paper
2.wax(I use canning wax bricks which is where the cost was)
3. an appropriate size metal pan(I got a cheap turkey pan at the dollar store)
4.stove or grill

melt all the wax in your pan and add paper gradually mix to coat let cool and presto you have waterproof tinder!

I can give you some wornout britches oil if you want to mix it in, strong scent, and will add abit of "hello" to your flame!

I keep a baggy of petroleum jelly and cotton in my 911 kit, its more of a starter than tender.

Roll up newspaper(not to tightly),tie a string every 4 inches and cut them into 4 inch tubes,dip in paraffin. We used to make these all the time in boy scouts and they burn really well,and light easily. I would think the more solid clump would not work quite as well.
