illegal on the campus, no.
illegal in the buildings, yes.
against school policy, yes.

arrested for trespass, a possibility. (No firearms is rule of being on campus, if you violate it, they can escort you off campus, it you persist, they can arrest you.)

Having recently graduated college, I can happily say that I made it successfully thru school while carrying without incident. Yes, I knew the risks/consequences. Yes, I weighed them carefully. Yes, I was willing to sacrafice my education in order to ensure my level of safety.

IUPUI actually just had a robbery on campus. Schools aren't exactly safe anymore.

On May 11, 2011, at approximately 9:25 a.m., a man approached an IUPUI employee on the east side of the Informatics and Communications Technology Complex (IT Building), 535 W. Michigan St., and demanded money from the victim. The victim complied with the demand. No weapon was seen, although the suspect implied that he had a weapon. The victim was not injured.
The suspect left the area after taking money from the victim, and was last seen heading west on Michigan Street.
The suspect was described as an African American male in his teens to early 20s. He was approximately 5-8 tall, weighing about 140 lbs. with a thin build; had shoulder-length dreadlocks; was wearing a cap, a black Gatorade jacket and blue jeans; and was riding a blue/green bicycle.

I carry regularly onto University of Indianapolis campus. It's hardly in the best of neighborhoods and I've noticed that the building I frequent has 0 security, especially in the evenings. No random PD walkthrough, no cameras, most entrances unsecured. Inevitably, I see a co-ed or 2 come out of some office while I'm there.

Cite please, to the best of my knowledge there are no laws regarding this. So therefor it is not illegal.

I go to school in Ohio... its illegal there, and I just assumed that it was in Indiana as well. I can't find any laws for IN about the buildings. The signs on the buildings say "according to ohio law, it is unlawful to carry a firearm, deadly weapon or dangerous ordinance within this building." Without the "law...unlawful" on the sign, it is not illegal

IC 35-47-9 thats the only relevant IC that I could find
