I was thinking how this policy should be used against all levels of federal government, the "what's good for the goose, is good for the gander”.
Misdeeds and malfeasance should cost jobs, and pensions, of the guilty.
Yeah, I know, fat chance, right?
Then I see the third article at @tbhausen 's link; all about how the ATF's zero tolerance policies don't apply to themselves, and their inner abuses, and it just confirms my apparently correct fears.

Little Johnny was in class one day and the teacher was asking everyone what their parents do.

One said her dad was a firefighter, another said his mom was a nurse.
