I picked up an old Bushnell Banner 3-9 X 40 scope along with a rifle yesterday. I really just wanted the rifle and the scope wasn't attached, and I didn't really check it out as thoroughly as I should have.
When I did, later at home, I could see that the cross-hairs are not at the normal vertical/horizontal position, but are at about a 45 degree cant. I'm not a scope guy, but I know this isn't the way that scope is supposed to be. It has a ding on the front tube, right at the edge that I'm sure I can press out, and the rest of the scope appears in good shape and the lenses are clear.
My question is, can I fix the cross-hairs or is the scope toast?
Any input would be appreciated.
