But will you run for office, or go sit in on a school board meeting?
So running for office or sitting at a school board meeting is going to change things?

I've voiced my opinions at the school board along with many other parents about teaching evolution to allowing teachers who want to carry a gun can. They just brush you off and do what they want. We voted out a few thinking the new ones would be better but I think they get paid off to keep status quo.

Running for state office takes a lot of money, federal government office well that would take millions of dollars us peasants cannot afford to run for office.

Run for a local office. You're right about state and national level offices being expensive. But a seat on the school board can be had by actively pressing the flesh in the community and delivering a message that fulfils the voters desires. Heck, for local office you don't even have to be a Licensed Bartender with an Economics Degree from Boston Univ.

I have been on a school board and just to say my opinions were not well received when it came to bringing back our real history classes and any Government or Civics classes. Some teachers stated that the Government and Civics Classes have no bearing on the future of the kids. As for running for office well we all can see how well that works out, you play for those that got you there and their money...
