Yes I am looking for a hand gun I have a 10/22 and agree holeheartedly it is the best plinking rifle for the price but I am talking about a 22 auto. What kind of price does the ruger 22/45 run? new? used?

At $300ish you can get a GSG1911. Hella fun.

Do you have any current handgun that might accept a conversion slide for .22? It seems most makes of pistols have them available now. I've got one for my SIGs, and it works very well. They might save you a few bucks over a dedicated pistol.

I do not own any automatic guns.
but i enjoy shooting the mk II, as well as the ruger 10/22.
I sold one of my old top break 22 revolvers and wish i wouldn't have done it!

I really like and recommend the Ruger 22/45 Lite! I need to find a little scope to mount on it soon.

is this lke a small 1911?

Not really, it's more like a MKIII with a 1911ish grip and similar control locations.

    I like:

    Low Cost
    Ruger 22's most models
Ruger 22/45 (45ACP Grip angle, feels so good!)
Browing Buckmark (good triggers out of the box, shot my first Master round in Bullseye competition with one, competitiors couldn't believe it).

    High Cost
    S&W Model 41
    Older High Standard Victors

+1 on Ruger 22/45. I think I got mine for under $250 out the door. Shoots very accurately, doesn't like flat nosed ammo. Winchester hollow points for example. I use remington thunderbolt and never have any trouble.
