I have had both the G20 & G29. I liked the G29 a lot better. I felt it had less recoil than the G20 because of the double recoil spring in the G29. I do all my own reloading & loaded some pretty hot loads & my G29 was still manageable. Here is a link to Double Tap Ammo with ballistic info, just click on the bullet weight and it will show you the ballistics between the G20 & G29.

near Bedford on a whole lot of land.
I have both the 20 and the 29. I love it. How much you lose out of the shorter barrel depends on the bullet weight, but in general I chrony about 50-75fps less out of the Federal Hydrashoks I carry. These are only marginally more powerful than the .40s&w and are a pleasure to shoot. I have some full-house 10mm 200gr hand loads that lose about 25-50fps out of the shorter barrel. I like the G29. If you are down my way (SW of Bedford) you can try my 10mms at my range (I have 3) if you provide the ammo and I can keep the brass :D
