I'm going to Atterbury sunday AM (be there at opening) to shoot my M1 garand with a buddy (bringing his ar15). I just bought a mauser 98k and a mosin nagant yesterday. If anyone that is proficient in the latter two and going to be there I would love to watch you go through the basic functions
. I can read all I want but don't plan on loading mine until I have more weapon specific hands on instruction. Mine may not be up an drunning by then, it has a half inch layer of cosmoline on it still and I'm told I'll be working in the yard all day today.
BTW from what I read already about gun people (I'm new) I will likely just be able to walk around and ask someone that is there to shoot the above mentioned weapons and they would be glad to show me a thing or two. (the people I've met are the nicest of any subculture I've come across.
