I was thinking the same thing. What if you were to go in and complain that someone was not armed. Would the manager be forced, as a condition of following corporate policy that must be adhered to by the letter, to have that offending person(s) immediately leave the premises? Or does that policy just apply to licensed proper people legally carrying firearms?

I also wonder if a manager was bent on not having any OC firearms in the store could merely say that there has been a complaint. Sounds like a easy way out that is beyond refute...
Yeah the point I was making is that Kroger states that their policy is to side with state law concerning the carry of firearms or such but it seems to me they only extend that policy until someone complains.

So in other words if someone complains to the manager just for the simple reason that they don't like guns then I guess that will result in an OC'r who is doing nothing more than shopping for groceries will be asked to leave.

Well the examples I gave previously should give me the grounds to complain and therefore have someone asked to leave because I don't like the way they smell or how bout I complain to management that I don't like people with red hair or moustaches. Would they then be asked to leave?

The point in all of this for me is they either have a policy of siding with state law when it comes to legally carrying a firearm or they don't.

Seriously though, there has been a resolution. Even better, it's a favorable one! Yesterday I received a phone call from someone up the chain at Kroger, and after a short game of phone tag I was able to talk to him this morning. The man I spoke to (we'll call him Tony) told me that Kroger does side with state law on citizens carrying weapons.

I believe you could amass quite a sum if you were to put several packages of steaks in your cart.
I would choose something non-perishable (unless I really did plan on buying the steak) so I didn't feel bad about leaving it behind.

Common sense would tend to indicate that it would only be if they were carrying and it offended you somehow (i.e. you got scared).

The more sheeple see people carrying, the less scared they will be, and the less likely people will be asked to leave due to scaring the sheeple.

I also wonder if a manager was bent on not having any OC firearms in the store could merely say that there has been a complaint. Sounds like a easy way out that is beyond refute...
They don't have to have any reason to ask you to leave, they could simply ask you to leave because they wanted to... Now being a larger company, surely somebody up the chain of command wouldn't be happy with it.

I OC in Krogers frequently. Never a problem. :dunno:

    Me too.

Well, there was the time the people at the self-check at the Rochester Kroger wanted to talk about guns and such and I was on my way to a class and I had to excuse myself before they were finished. That was almost a problem.

Bennett's suspended certification also means he cannot turn on the blue lights on a police cruiser or make a traffic stop

Check this out.. the kettle calling the pot black, interesting!

Always catching me and my nefarious motives, aren't ya? :):
Hope things are well with you.

Hmmm, I've never seen ATM be anything but supportive of anyone who carries, whether that be OC or CC. He just happens to like to argue with those who tell him he is wrong by carrying the way he does.

Thank you, but MG knows this very well and I only took it as a joke. ;)

I saw this article and thought of you.

It does an outstanding job of supporting your statement.

Great point, I was at the range last weekend and spotted two LEOs. Watched them shoot and I can say my 14 yo shot better than they did. we counted and one out 50 rounds only 5 were center mass and 23 total on target. The other had only 37 total on target. The rest were way left and in the air somewhere.

I have OC'd in Wal-Mart without a problem, but, have been watched closely by their so called security. If that happened to me I would gladly leave, leaving the cart full, the money in MY bank and never darken their doors again.

I have to agree on the whole why carry in the open? It gives away any chance of suprise or shock when they (thugs) know you are carrying. I also think that after being asked to leave you were in the wrong and did a great many of us a disservive by standing there and arguing or challanging the managers position. You should have left immediatly and called to make an appointment with the general store manager and come back without the weapon to discuss the policy and how its chossen to be enforced. Thank you for making it more difficult for people that dont carry open.

I'm sorry, but you seem to have posted in the wrong thread. There are several OC vs CC Debate threads, perhaps you would find your post to be more on topic there? (I know I would)

Oh, might I also suggest something called "spell check"? I think you will find it a most useful tool, making your arguments much more persuasive when they contain little things like correct spelling, grammar, and punctuation.

    Have a nice day!

Just one question if I may. How would it make it more difficult for people that don't open carry?
