So if they don't have a license (other than something that shows them to be a resident of AZ, maybe) what would they have to do to carry here in Indiana?

    Go Arizona

Looks like just enough people in Arizona have rejected the socialist notion that only after they've been "checked out" and paid for a type of Waffenbesitzkarte from The State might they be graciously "allowed" to bear arms. They hold that their rights are not contingent upon the actions of convicted criminals.

Look towards Vermont or Alaska for the answer to your question... ;)

    Alaska.

Bubba, they'd have a license/permit/whatever, but would not need it to carry in AZ. It shifts the burden of proof back where it should be.

"Innocent until proven guilty" is the diametric opposite of "proving you're law-abiding before your carry of a firearm is less restricted." I like that the push is on to get back to where we should be... And if a majority of states start moving this way... Wow... How cool would that be?!

...They hold that their rights are not contingent upon the actions of convicted criminals.

    Best. Line. EVAR.

    Blessings,
    Bill

I plan on goin out to AZ here shortly and I informed the State Police I would be visiting and asked for there laws and got this back

Arizona currently recognizes valid permits from all 50 states for persons 21 years of age and older, so long as that person is visiting our state for six months or less. While we do honor the other state's permit, that permit holder must abide by Arizona's gun carry laws while in our state. If a person becomes a resident of Arizona, they are required to obtain an Arizona CCW permit to legally carry concealed in our state. Please keep in mind that our state is considered an "open carry" state, so a permit is only required if a person wants to carry a concealed weapon.

Please go to Concealed Weapons & Permits - Arizona Department of Public Safety for information on obtaining an AZ CCW permit and/or for guidance on AZ gun laws.

Please go to Concealed Weapons & Permits - Arizona Department of Public Safety for information regarding current gun laws in Arizona. Arizona is an open-carry state. So, as long as your firearm is not concealed, you should be okay. Specific information regarding carrying your firearm in your vehicle can be found in Arizona Revised Statute 13-3102, section F, Concealed Weapons & Permits - Arizona Department of Public Safety (excerpt below)

    F. Subsection A, paragraph 1 of this section shall not apply to a weapon or weapons carried in a belt holster which holster is wholly or partially visible, or carried in a scabbard or case designed for carrying weapons which scabbard or case is wholly or partially visible or carried in luggage. Subsection A, paragraph 2 of this section shall not apply to a weapon or weapons carried in a case, holster, scabbard, pack or luggage that is carried within a means of transportation or within a storage compartment, map pocket, trunk or glove compartment of a means of transportation.

You may also review the Federal Firearms Regulations at http://www.atf.gov/pub/fire-explo_pub/2005/p53004/q_and_a.pdf for more information regarding to transfer of firearms across state lines.

    A BIG +1 to AZ

I would be happy if Indiana removed the license requirement for open carry as a good first step.

Clear the General Assembly of liberals and that might happen, Ramen. Note that I did not say of "Democrats", because not all the Dems are liberals, and not all the Republicans are our friends. Good example of a bad legislator is Tom Wyss. Never met a gun bill he liked, unless it restricted peoples' exercise of their rights. Oddly, though, he's made it clear he has a lifetime License to Carry....

Can you say "hypocrite"? I knew you could! :xmad:
