While we in Indiana have lifetime permits, we don't have the Arizona Department of Public Safety looking out for those who only have the four year permit...

Four years ago, while attending a class at Gunsite, I obtained an Arizona Concealed Wepon Permit. The permit must be renewed after four year and my renewal is up this coming March. Much to my suprise, in today's mail, I received a letter from the AZ DPS Concealed Weapon Permit Unit. The letter graciously reminds me that my license will expire in three months, reminds me of the renewal procedure and cost and includes the renewal form.

All I need to do is fill out the one page form, mail in my $43 and I'm good for another four years.

It would be nice if all states were so encouraging of our right to carry.

Florida does the same thing (I got my renewal notice earlier this year). Of course, Florida gets $117 each time someone renews, so it's in their best interest to spend the money on a stamp.
