We have three too many roosters and was hoping someone near us (Martinsville) would be able to help us slaughter and prepare them for freezer and stove "life"

I guess I should provide a little back story on this. We had 15, one got killed by a dog. Now down to 14 come to find out 4 of those (at least) are roosters we only want one rooster, you can do the math.

One of the four we knew would be a rooster one was bought from the pullets only box. Two were based on S.W.A.G. chicken sexing methods.

s.w.a.g. is silly wild azz guess

I have read how to do it, I would prefer to have an experienced person there at least to tell me what not to do if I start to screw something up

Not to hijack your thread but how old does a hen have to be before you get eggs? We have 4 hens that are 20 weeks old and got one egg Monday and one Thursday night is that normal? Thanks

Between 18 to 24 weeks depending on the type of bird so yeah your on track.

If you haven't already switch to a layer feed or supplement their feed with crushed oyster shells for the added calcium.
