We should have wrenching days or something. I carry tools with me all the time and that includes a 25" breaker bar for breaking bolts that are rusted solid to Jeep parts. I can do brake work other then replacing calipers and brake lines.

It's been a week and a half since a Chevy Lumina tried to wedge itself under my XJ. I'm a sad panda.

Nice, is the fender flares needed because of hte tires or just because? I am looking to get that size tires and heard 3"-3.5" won't due and to go 4-4.5" to comfortable fit 31's. I don't want to get new flares right away, but will at some point. I really don't want to cut my body panels.

i have no rubbing issues with that lift and 31's. those are the stock flares that came on the jeep. they've just been cut a little to make room for the front bumper and the rear quarter panel armor. i could probably go up to 32's and still have no problems. you definitely need 3 or 3.5 inches of lift to go with 31's. i've had a 2" lift with 30's AND 31's. 31"s definitely rub with only 2" of lift.

Not true, I ran 2" of lift and 31's and the only rub I had was at full lock, Now I'm at 3" and 32's and they rub a bit more but nothing that worries me.

On my XJ i had 235 r15's and a 2" lift with no trimming. Tires were bad and i upgraded to 31x10.5 R15s. They would rub really bad on a 2" with full fenders. You couldn't have any weight in the back hatch or you would be rubbing on the bumper caps. I knew it was going to happen so i was prepared to trim. I trimmed the front up to the top of the old flare and the back i cut and folded the lip over. I also run flareless and no bumper caps on the rear. I am running a RigidCo front bumper so that opens the front up considerably.

I will run 33"s here soon on about 3" of lift. and some more trimming.

call it what you want. They are larger and people may have issues with them rubbing at full flex or full lock. Wider is a form of larger.

Failing to find out what is untrue about his statement. He said it rubs. You say it rubs.

    :dunno:
The only rub I had was the factory control arms at 2" with 31s and tat was at full lock. Properly bumpstop it and you won't rub anywhere else. It rubs now because the tires are an inch wider.
