Very cool video.

My first commercial flight was into DC. I forget which airport is right on the edge of the water. But as a 4th grader, I was nervous that we were 100 feet off the water and dropping. I remembered that my seat could be used as a flotation device, but then the land appeared 10 seconds before touchdown.

Nice video. I always enjoy flying at night when it's clear and try to pick out the landmarks. But we don't have the luxury of seeing out the windshield. What I'd give for that view.

Came close to a night take-off over LAX a year ago, but wasn't quite dark enough... and I was headed west from LAX so there wasn't much to see in front of the plane... wouldn't have been nearly as cool as the vid, even if it was dark out.

Rare day!

Must have caught a rare clear day for this one. We seldom broke out of the smog until about DH (decision height) or 200 feet AGL!
