Congrats DEC! My dad and I pulled a double 2 years ago. I had him set up for the turkeys to come straight to him. They ended up circling around to my side. I shot one bird. The other just stood there watching so I told my dad to turn and shoot. He got the second. After the excitement I realized how bad it was going to suck to carry out 2 birds in my vest almost a mile back to the truck!

Impressive. I can’t imagine chasing them on public ground. I have enough trouble with mushroom hunters on private ground!
I went out last Saturday and ran into probably 5/6 mushroom hunters, 3 yotes, and about 18 MPH winds.. awesome day... this was private land and was told not to come back until season was over.

No birds this morning so I went out later to do some food plot work and check cameras. Found two hunters on camera going right through where I had my blind before I got out there. These people had to walk through 1K acres of HNF ground just to hunt on mine. Between this and the drug dealers dogs I'll be lucky to see a turkey. Late Indiana season makes it hard for working people to get out through the week as season starts on Wednesday.

Haven't hunted in years, and have never turkey hunted, but when driving to my parents' house today, I had one cross the road right in front of me. Nice tom, and he was close enough for a well-aimed rock to have done the trick.

I got me one last week! Had my fare share of good luck in the deer woods but never really tried to hunt turkeys. It's awesome lol. Had to get creative but we pulled it off. Solid 2 yr old we think. 10" ish beard, Spurs were close to an inch and definitely north of 20 lbs.

I took a friend out this evening. He is new to hunting. He shot a jake. He was excited. We got home to clean the bird and I noticed a second beard. It was hiding behind the other beard and feathers. Then as I was getting ready to pull the beards off, I found a much smaller third beard! That got me excited. I have killed almost 20 turkeys since I started hunting them in 2004 and never had a double, or triple, beard.

I'm shopping for a new turkey rig.
Double bead sights and old eyes no longer work together on cloudy days.
    Proly get another 870 Supermag.
Looking for an old 23" VR RC version.
But would take a 26" or 28" if all black.
Do not care for the new ones w funky synth stock. Like the old ones better.

Of course, all shops seem sold out of any new/used 870s.
And the 1500 isn't until later in the yr.

Be kinda nice to get one put together while laid off and actually test it while the weather isn't too cold/hot.

    Asking a lot I know.

But the ol lady told me two things last day of season:

    1. Go to the spine doc and get my back fixed
    2. Quit making do with old gear, go buy whatever it takes to blast a tom next yr.

She hates venison but likes waterfowl and upland.
I only run 3" so could do a build on a reg 870.

But I have one Supermag and two sounds good.
What I want isn't available, so will have to be built/assembled...........which is fine with me.

Damn this Covid, screwing up my gun shopping LOL
