This is not meant to be a flame of Fiocchi ammunition (it's good stuff), but I wonder if I've had a normal experience with them. FiocchiUSA touts their factories on Missouri and in Arkansas, but I have purchased .45 ACP, 9 MM Luger, .357 Magnum, and .38 Special and they all said "Made in Italy"...
I've got a 1911 which I'd like to get Parkerized (preferably zinc phosphate) for a realistic price (i.e., considerably less than Turnbull!) Who would be good?
I believe I've found a pistol which I like just about as much as the Model 1911. 1,100 rounds, so far, without a single hiccup. I've been firing mostly Winchester Service Grade 115 grain (which is same-same the M1152, from what I can tell) and some Winchester 9mm NATO. That is one sweet pistol!
I know that the late-war 1911A1s were made with a notch on the upper edge of the rear portion of the trigger bow. Current triggers seem to be a mixed bag - some have the notch and some don't. Is it really all that important?
Is there anyone within - say - a 50 mile radius of Columbus (Indiana) who you would recommend for hot bluing firearms? I've had good luck with Loren Fogle (West Mansfield, Ohio) in the past, but hate to have to screw around with UPS. Thanks.
I've launched into a project with which I need some help. Is there anyone in central/south-central Indiana who does either rollmarks or engraving and also does bluing and zinc phosphate Parkerizing? I'm trying to "reconstruct" a World War II Colt 1911A1. I've got a slide which needs nothing done...
Due to personal matters, I find myself needing to sell part of my "arsenal" and have placed the following on consignment with my local gun shop (Peddler Firearms, 1630 Home Avenue, Columbus, Indiana, (812) 657-7250):

Just happened to see this on "grabagun.com":
CZ Compact SDP 9mm Black Heinie NS 14rd
Does this refer to a very dark German or to someone whose arse is overly-tanned?
I was thinking about putting my "truck gun" (along with a desiccant pack) in an Uncle Mike's Pistol Rug zippered pouch. Would this be a good idea for what would amount to long-term storage? Would it do anything to harm the finish on the pistol?
I have one of many CZ82s which CAI imported. On some of them (mine included), they "etched" a second serial number on the front grip strap (just below the trigger guard). The manufacturer's serial number (a different number) is still in place on the frame and the slide. Would it be legal...
A very low-mileage commercial M9 with three magazines or an even lower-mileage SIG Pro 2022 with two magazines? (I'm needing to reduce my inventory. :( )
I just had my first (and last) experience with Centerfire Systems of Versailles, Kentucky. I ordered a new Zastava M57 pistol from them last Thursday morning. They had a good price and had them in stock (according to their web site). I had heard nothing from them by late Monday afternoon and...
How well does it hold up? Will a trace of oil (as a result of normal gun cleaning) have any effect on it? Is it reasonably resistant to chips and scratches?
I got a can of this stuff in "Earth Brown". That's what the label says, and the cap (which is what you can usually go by on spray paint) is an almost chocolate brown. I don't know if they put the wrong label and cap on the this can, or what, but the paint is just about what I'd call olive drab...
After umpteen times spouting off about his "red line" which Syria would be crossing if they used chemical weapons, he now decides that the red line was drawn "by the world". Right, Bam-Bam. That's why it's the UN Security Council taking a vote on whether or not to authorize action. Wrong! (Have...
