Is NFA Branch Closed (b/c of shutdown)?

Just wondering if anyone knows if the NFA branch is closed? I sent in my 5320.20's for 2019 and got most of them back but not all of them and was wondering if they hadn't been processed yet, if I was going to see them anytime soon because of the shutdown. I'm missing my Illinois SBR paperwork...

      School Zone Speed Limit Question

Can anyone with informed knowledge on the subject tell me how Indiana interprets "children present" when it comes to school zone speed limits. I pass a school every day on my way to work, which has 20 MPH signs on each side of it. The signs are the usual that state that the speed limit applies...

      No more record NICS checks?

Just curious if the gun-buying public takes their foot off the gas on buying new guns now that it looks like, at least in theory, that we won't have any major national gun control legislation for the next two years. I'll be interested to see November's NICS numbers.

Another Gun Control Hypothetical.... Which would you rather?

With all the talk in the media about gun control, the left proposes many policies. Some focus on the "who" by restrictions and further regulation on who can own guns. (licensing, mental health checks, training, etc...). Other proposals focus on the "what" like assault weapons bans, mag capacity...

      Dillon Small Accessories Stock

Do you guys stock some of the smaller accessories Dillon sells? I wanted to pick up a couple of their handgun case gages and some primer pickup tubes, but don't want to pay shipping from Dillon. I have to come down to get my INGO lower whenever those are done and was thinking of other stuff I...

      Sorting Brass

How important is it to sort brass by mfg? I am loading plinking ammo in 9mm, 45, 223 and 308. I'm not really shooting for max accuracy or running at max loads. For my precision loads I have brass from FGGM or Black Hills match, and I sort those, but do I need to bother for plinking stuff?

      Silencerco Omega 30 Looks Awesome!

Shorter, lighter and quieter than the Saker 762 (which I have waiting in NFA jail, BTW) and comes with direct thread and ASR mount. Only 13 oz for a full-auto rated 30 caliber can! Omega - SilencerCo Firearm Suppressors I wish I had waited on this, though I'm sure I'll be happy with my Saker 762.

Sorta Screwed Up Mailing Form 1

Mailed my Form 1 to NFA yesterday. I got to the Post Office, threw everything in a Priority Mail envelope, sealed it up and then realized I forgot my post-it with the address. Wrote it down on the envelope from memory, but wrote down 25401 instead of 25405 for the ZIP. 25401 is still...

Selling a new in package Volquartsen MKII hammer bushing for a Ruger MarkII/MarkIII or 22/45 rimfire pistol. Erosion of 4A in PA

Unfortunately the 4A (or whatever PA's state equivalent is) was knocked down a peg. Brings PA more in line with most states and gives more power to Officer Super-Nose and his 4-legged Bill of Attainder. Supreme Court: Pennsylvania cops no longer need a warrant to search citizens? vehicles -...

Midwest Gun Exchange Ad - NWI

Saw this Midwest Gun Exchange Ad: Midwest Gun Exchange Weekly Email Specials In it they advertise that you can buy a Sig 1911 and "be able" to purchase a Sig 1911-22 for $99. Am I mistaken or isn't Sig's promotion to buy a Sig 1911 and get a 1911-22 FREE...

Gun Shipping Question... A Different One, I Promise

I know the shipping of firearms has been discussed ad nauseum here. I have a slightly different question. If a non-licensee uses an FFL to send a gun back to the mfg. or to a smith for work, (say, a handgun, because FFL can use USPS, saves shipping $), can the mfg or smith send the gun back to...

Shall Sign - We Need Something Like This

SHALL SIGN LEGISLATION MOVING FORWARD ACROSS THE COUNTRY I hope a bill like this comes up for a vote in Indiana sometime soon. I know Indiana is pretty NFA-friendly (heck, you can even get a sign-off in Indianapolis), though I know of a few towns in NWI that WON'T sign. This would be a great...

      OWB Holster Recommendation

Looking for a holster for OWB carry. I have a Blackhawk Serpa I use to carry my HK USP Compact, but it sits REALLY far off the belt, IMO. I'm looking for something that will keep the gun tighter to my body. My friend has a Desantis leather belt holster that does that pretty well, but his is a...

      Engraver near NWI?

Anyone have a recommendation for a good engraver in NWI? I am going to be SBR'ing an M92 AK and will need engraving done. Since it's a pistol, and I'm not sure if I'm going to bother to convert it into a rifle with a perm brake until my stamp comes back, I don't want to have to ship it, as a...
