      The 556R, a review...

Good review. I have waited and watched the SIG 556R thru 2 generations and glad to see that the effort was worth it. I bought a PTR32 instead, considering the problems of the 1st generation 556R.

Home Defense Shotgun Loads -- A Comparison

Nice range report. I think the (15') test range was very practical. Good data to consider. Thanks.

Can't decide on an AK or an AR?

AK with modern sights (iron and glass), barrel twist, and ammo. Surplus ammo is ok for practice.

If you had one rifle to choose from what would you pick and why?

All good choices. I would make do with what I have in my hands at the time, and if it quits for whatever reason, find something else. There are millions of firearms in this country. lol Should not be a problem to find one along the way. I have owned and do own most of the choices...

Stoeger Coach Gun. Yes or No?

I have owned a Stoeger double trigger internal hammer 12 guage coach gun for years. It is rugged, reliable, and damn easy for anyone to pick up and operate. Years ago, I sold this particular shotgun and regretted my choice, so I bought it back. Some things that work, should be kept. lol...

Best AK on the market today?

Valmet (safe queens still out there), Vepr, Saiga, Custom Galil (7.62x39 & 5.45x39), Krebs, Tromix, and the "improved" Sig 556R (7.62x39 Swiss AK). I have owned Vepr (RobArms also) and today's market offers more parts and customizing than before for this brand. Too many custom AK shops and...

Insight Into France's Attempt to Replace FAMAS

Money appears to be tight everywhere these days. Very interesting article. It will be interesting to see, what rifle/s the French military adopt as a replacement to the FAMAS.

      Considering my first AR

I saw a Colt M4 LE at the evil empire in Brownsburg in the display rack for a little over a $1000 last Saturday. I couldn't believe it. Maybe there is hope for firearm users in America, if Wal-Mart sells it. lol All are good AR rifles. Good luck in your choice.

      Mosin Nagant RUN AND GUN!!

Great video. Excellent full power rifle work. The shooter is competent with the firearm he is currently holding. Good recipe for survival, if needed. These days, we should be grateful for the many choices and styles of firearms (full power, intermediate, handgun caliber carbines, etc.) for...

      Shotgun Vs Pistol Caliber Carbine

Both are excellent choices. Many militaries and law enforcement agencies world wide use both for entry and close encounters effectively. A person should use a firearm that they are safe, effective, competent, and comfortable firing. It sounds like your wife has found her current choice. If...

      Any VEPR owners?

The stock Veprs have to be modded to accept high capacity magazines. Robinson Arms was one of the first custom shops to tackle the Vepr. I have owned custom Robinson Arms and stock Veprs over the years. Yes, they are heavy in a few respects and are basically a cut down version of a RPK and...

      Polish Archer AK (Beryl) Review

Good job on the rifle review as always. I have been keeping an eye on I.O. Inc. AKs for some time. It looks like they are really working on a decent product line, at least on the higher end. I like folder and railed AKs. I would spend the $1300, if the rifle had the folding stock and Beryl...

Best Indiana SHTF rifle...NO AK OR AR!

Since we have excluded what I would normally want to use (AK or AR), I agree with the rifle/carbine concept, that is based on the use of pistol ammo. But, just for a game rifle in Indiana (if rule of law is gone, lol), a .243 bolt action from your favorite firearms maker (Savage, Remington...

      AK - Hot or Not

SNIPERCO 300 Blackout and 458 SOCOM Uppers

I would like a AR upper in .300 Blackout myself. The AR is cool. I have/had uppers in 7.62x39 and 6x45 so far. One lower, all kinds of AR caliber choices. Versatile and thrifty. lol I consider the .300 Blackout an American 7.62x39 AR alternative with all kinds of bullets/speeds to...

      AR15: Major Keyholing Issues

Mr. Obvious here. lol With the stated round count, we can assume the rifle is broke in. +1 on a good cleaning with a rod and brush, and clean/lubricate "everything" with a close eye for damage or anything unusual. Stick a quality bullet at the end of your barrel and then try the same lot...

      AR vs AK

Own the best of both worlds. As said before in this thread, you can have both to capitalize on their particular strengths, where/when they apply. You can buy or build both, still at a acceptable cost. I personally own and use both rifle styles. I like having choices. These AK vs./or AR...
