Les Baer, Ed Born, Wilson Combat or other

My vote would be to build one, or have one built by someone good while being available to see how it feels to you. The 1911s I have are both carry guns, and I built them using the best parts from several manufacturers but on a Rock Island frame and slide. The idea is that I want the function...

      Californians Arming Due to Illegals

I thought this was interesting. Apologies if this is a repost; I've not seen it. https://nypost.com/2024/04/15/us-news/californians-arming-themselves-over-border-issue/

Small Pistol Primer .45 brass is annoying!

I understand. I don't have a progressive and prime with a hand primer and wouldn't therefore be a huge issue for me.

      Thanks for accepting me.

Please bear in mind that no, we don't have time to listen to you whine.

Small Pistol Primer .45 brass is annoying!

You can send it my way. I have lots of LPP .45acp but very little SPP. I'd like options on what primers I use.

Sad and Sickened at powder prices

Glenn had some decent (for the times) prices when I was there a couple weeks ago. Picked up some more H4350. I'm disappointed that it's been hard to find CCI large pistol primers lately. I was cleaning up in the shop and found almost 1,000 large rifle primers, so there's that. My biggest...

      National Gun Sales

I like milsurp. Have you seen the prices of your basic 91/30s these days? I have hopes that they'll get popular again when the Ukraine war is over.

Any caliber you really don’t like

.25acp, unless necked down to .22 Cricket. I really want one of the latter. .40S&W.

      Does This Constitute a Problem?

You skipped the funny part about volume fire.

      Does This Constitute a Problem?

Well, you see, my wife is more comfortable in town, so we bought a house inside city limits. I keep most of my guns out in the country at my parents' house these days since I've had a range set up in the woods out there since I was 16. Just keeps me from lugging stuff back and forth. Some years...

      Does This Constitute a Problem?

This is correct. Modern springs fatigue from work, not from setting around compressed. A new spring will "settle in" to a slightly shortened state, but it'll only go so far.

      Does This Constitute a Problem?

It won't hurt them, and I had this idea once that I was going to store all the rounds I was reloading, in magazines ready to go. I realized that wasn't practical after I got an auto-indexing turret press with which to do my handgun ammo, but this was the start.

      Does This Constitute a Problem?

Am I the only one who does this? Those mags are stacked two deep, and I have six or seven more not in that box.

      Damned Bat

I appreciate that. I've heard of ingestion of the rabid animals being a possible cause, and so this was my concern. I probably read too much, and am an overprotective father of an ornery 10-year-old girl. An 11-year-old boy gave me a hug and asked if he could date her. I told him she's not...

      Damned Bat

Thank you. I've always released bats. They're awesome critters. At what temp do they wake up? It was in the 40s here on Sunday night, and I'd seen them out before Sunday. Can they wake up when it warms up, then go back to hibernating when it gets cold again? That would explain this one.

      Damned Bat

Rabies has a long incubation period, typically 20 to 90 days. Those things can look viscous, but the bigger concern was it acting sick. I didn't want my son bitten.
