      Opportunities in Northeast Indiana

Norm Hood at Defensive Solutions near South Bend is highly recommended. Sand Burr near Rochester also hosts good classes, including Ayoob's MAG-40, but I'm not sure how active they are right now. Dave Spaulding is also worth a look and may be doing something in southern Michigan this year.

      WTB: Springfield XD 45 mags

Let me know if you have any full-size springfield XD 45 mags you would like to sell or trade. Thanks

      What's your next training class?

I am considering either MAG-80 in October at Sand Burr or the Tom Givens handgun class. Has anyone taken MAG-80?

      Book Recommendations

Everyone should give 'Verbal Judo' a read. There is also some decent information in 'Games Criminals Play'.

      WTB: Used ESEE Junglas

Looking for a used Junglas, touch base if you have one you are willing to part with.

Anyone try the Ontario Bushcraft Woodsman yet?

I've been looking for a used ESEE Junglas, but it just hasn't worked out, so I'm considering the new Ontario Bushcraft Woodsman. Anyone have any thoughts on this? 5160 steel vs. 1095?

      Purify Well Water Before Storing

MrBlue54 - Are you concerned about losing power and not being able to use the electric pump for your well? If so, I would skip storing drums of water and just keep a bailer handy - lots cheaper and doesn't take any space. You could also use poly or plastic tubing and a check-valve...

I need some help identifying maker of old hatchet.

I can't make out the stamp on your hatchet head, but I have a very similar looking Hults Bruks (HB) hatchet (also made in Sweden). I vaguely recall that HB is a predecessor to GB. Let us know if you figure it out....

      Light Reading

I also highly recommend Cooper's "To Ride, Shoot Straight, and Tell the Truth". Anything by Ayoob is great, but "The Ayoob Files" is my favorite, and to round things out - pick up "Boston's Gun Bible".

      holster recommendations for sig 220/226

Good questions! Yep, OWB. Regarding price, around $50 if doable and yes time isn't an issue. Thanks!

      holster recommendations for sig 220/226

Does anyone have a recommendation for a reasonably priced leather holster for sig 220/226 concealed carry? I prefer something with a retention snap or even a retention hood. Something not too expensive, but not cheaply made either.

      45 acp small primer blowback?

Unburned powder blown back on casing and I can feel powder or some type of debris on my face and arms (not alot, but consistently). Only happens with this load and small primers.

      45 acp small primer blowback?

I have some re-loaded 45 acp small primer brass (loaded with 185 grain FMJ, 6.1 gr Unique, and TulAmmo small primers) that consistently gives "blowback." Does anyone re-load small primer 45 acp brass, and if so do you use faster burning powders or maybe a lower than usual measure of powder...

      WTT: Anza Tracker

I would be interested in any good quality chopper - new or used, and can add cash to the deal.....

      WTT: Anza Tracker

Hello - I have a "like new" Anza Tracker that I would like to trade for an ESEE Junglas or Tops Anaconda. The Tracker is an intersting knife (Anza's are made in the US from file tool steel), and I don't recall ever using it. The knife also comes with a nice leather sheath. As indicated, I...

      Berkey Water Purification System?

Sounds like most of you are happy with the Berkey filters - thanks for the input!

      Berkey Water Purification System?

So, a few posts point out that a Berkey system is expensive - I guess that's relative. Looks to me like they are in the mid-$200's, are there some hidden costs? By the way, don't drink softened water if you can avoid it - hard on blood pressure!

      Berkey Water Purification System?

Anyone have first hand experience with a Berkey water purifier (or any other good quality system)? Looking for a way to remove a slight sulfur odor from well water - system will need to sit on a counter-top so should look half way presentable. If you have experience, what size works for you...

      Smith & Wesson 649/640 - thoughts?

I really favor the Centennials (442/640/642) - they are a little more comfortable because you can get a higher grip, but you should shoot both and see if having the accessible hammer really makes difference to you. One thing I strongly recommend - attend the snub-nose revolver class at Sand...
