Well, I inspected the muzzle end using a 10X magnifier and a light. There were no cracks and the threads are fine. I sent an email off to Mossberg to see if they can give me a date of manufacture. I also sent them the picture just as a data point for their quality dept. I'll report back if they...
You guys brought up some good points. I have shot steel shells on a goose hunt but less than a dozen. I will get the bright light and magnifier out and look at the last few inches of the barrel. That one choke tube has been difficult to remove almost from day one. I haven't noticed any trouble...
This is out of a second hand, 35 year old Mossberg model 500. I had trouble getting the tube out so I soaked it overnight. This was my "pheasant" shotgun and slugs were never fired since it also has a slug barrel. The tube finally came out and this is what I found:
You guys are doing it the hard way! This is the first chipper that I've found intact. This cat is one ruthless killing machine. It's like watching Wild Kingdom every day around here :):
Are you sure that you don't already have a 9 round magazine? The mag in your gun in that first pic sure looks like a 9 rounder! Many people have complained that it's tough to get the last couple of rounds in them but I use an Uplula and don't have any trouble. Maybe I'm just looking at it wrong...
That looks like a 9-round magazine in your first comparison picture. I've been struggling with my practical side in that I'm really interested in a 365 but I already have a LC9S with two each, 7 and 9-round mags. It has 10-round capacity with the larger mag AND I shoot it very well. I can't ask...
Here's another vote for the Dillon/Ohaus. I had been using a Lyman since 1986 and had been happy with it. I use a calibrated Mettler Toledo laboratory grade scale at work and made up my own check weights. Out of curiosity, I tried the weights on the Lyman scale and it was reading .3 grains too...
Thanks to the information given by KLB and Spencer Rifle, I am 99% sure that this is a Euonymus atropurpurea/ Eastern Wahoo Seed. Looking at the images and reading descriptions of the bush prove this. It's also located where they are typically found in the US. I'm almost 55 years old and lived...
The rest of it was pretty ordinary like a tall bush such as a lilac but not as dense, IIRC. Those red things were so eye-catching that I only took pictures of them. We'll go back this fall so I'll try to get more pics.
I found this growing along a creek in Putnam County. It flowers like this every fall and I haven't been able to find out what it is so I'm turning to the experts here on INGO!
I've had the exact same gun going on 3 years now. I heard about the firing pin/retainer pin problem and came up with my own solution. For dry firing, I just cut a foam earplug in half and drop it in between the hammer and firing pin. One drop of the hammer molds it in place and you're good to...
I ordered a BCM complete lower from them. Since I had no dealings with them before, I contacted BCM to see if G&R was a legitimate reseller of their products and was advised that they were the best way to go for a lower. The transaction went as easily as ordering from Amazon. The only hassle was...
I have the LC9S and I'm very happy with it. The tiny white dot sights are excellent and the trigger is light years better than a double action pull. The gun is very light and as such, recoil is very snappy but it's a blast to shoot. I shoot it better than my SR9C.
I have owned three different .380s over the years and my favorite is the M&P Bodyguard.....hands down. The trigger isn't bad, it's just different for a reason. I can put 5 shots into an orange at 7-10 yards with my handloads. I used a little white appliance paint to paint the front sight which...
I'd tell new handloaders that these days that we're in now could easily be looked back on as the good old days. I would also advise them to do a little math and calculate how much inventory they'll need to maintain their desired amount of shooting and reloading over the next 4 years and stock...
I saw the ad in the paper that you're referring to. I had been looking for a truly pocket-sized back-up so I went in to Haley's to take a look at them. As it turns out, that sale price is about $50 less than RK Guns and $25 less than Bud's. I think I bought his last one. I shot both FMJ and...
