Hello all. First timer here. Just curious on what everyone's focus has been towards when thinking about preparedness. I think a lot of people in this community have considered all of the equipment, but none of the knowledge or the traing that should encompass it.

So, I'm glad you all read the post. It is absolutely fair to say that A LOT of people are missing out on valuable training. And by this community, it was intended as the prepper community as a whole, not just this forum. For all of the preparing everyone does, maybe some thicker skin should be more of a priority because instantly the offended ones are coming out.

I agree. That's why a discussion would be great. Thank you for you reply.

So start one. What did you focus on? What's the context?

You've basically just thrown out a community wide swipe then asked that same community to provide feedback on the thing you're saying they don't do *without* giving any context or idea of where you're looking for the conversation to go. There's already a ton of threads here discussing various aspects, from survivalism to first aid to getting your cardio to the point you aren't winded by a set of stairs. So what are you looking for?

Focus, hmmmmm. In a prepping group, on a gun forum.
    Well let’s see.

My focus might be to introduce myself via the appropriate method before I even accidentally insult someone.

Then I would read the appropriate threads to insure my “assumptions “ were correct.

After that I would feel free to educate the great uninformed masses, because obviously no one could possibly have any training or knowledge of being prepared for any contingency that may arise.

Now please tell “at the very least me“ what should I know?

Thank goodness there is someone here that is more articulate than I am. I couldn’t have gotten that thought in print if I took all day.
