good for them. In a previous life when I had to deal with people online we were the same way. Sorry, the customer ISN'T always right and whomever came up with that slogan should be drawn and quartered.
Yup. It's just a little too one sided. You should always try and satisfy the customer, but sometimes they need to be told to go on down the road and torment the next shop. "You're done here." is my favorite quote from a fed up shop owner.

    I could not agree more.

My family owned restaurants when I was growing up until my mid 20s and I started working weekend mornings as a cashier/host from 9 years old and on. I learned very quickly that so many people of the general public were so stupid I became super jaded with the idea of 'grown ups must be smart' a lot of kids think and 'the customer is always right' ideology.

I loved when people told my dad that when they were clearly in the wrong because he wasn't afraid to let them know when they were just plain 0% right.

My favorite was a trucker who came in and got upset we didn't have a buffet and threw a 2yr old style fit. He said, "WELL ya'lls billboard on 65 said BEST BUFFET IN TOWN"

We had just had that one redone so he had photos from the company with different designs showing the same exact text "best breakfast in town" on every single one - including the one we chose. So after he realized the guy wouldn't let up as he demanded to order as much as he wanted for a fixed price (that he claimed would be $8 for the stunt we pulled) my dad went in the office to get the pictures sent over to show him and he STILL said that wasn't what it said. He said we had no idea what it said obviously because it was 20 minutes away from town.

My dad told him that he drove by it every single morning on the way in and couldn't help him anymore and he could deny reality all he wanted but we have no buffet.

On his way out he was screaming that he won't be the last person to get mad at our lying false advertisement and that it's illegal to false advertise like that.

Unrelated to the OP but in regards to the customer always being right - I'd say it's about a 30/70 split at best for them being right vs wrong.

We have a similar quote on this site, though it goes more like "I think we're done here."

On a related note, the only time I've ever seen someone refused service was at a local used video and music shop last year. While I was overlooking his selection of DVD's, a guy came in and wanted to buy a vinyl record. This record was still sealed in it's original packaging, so it had some value. Well anyways I overheard their conversation from across the store.

The guy wanted the record to listen to, however the shop owner stated that it wasn't really for listening but more for collecting as the quality was terrible compared to other types of vinyl records. The owner said he would only sell it to someone who wanted it as a collectible and went on to explain that he's had several experiences with people coming in and buying sealed collectibles, opening them up and listening, and demanding a refund because the quality was subpar. However the record isn't worth as much now that it's been opened, so he would take a hit if he refunded their money.

The guy became increasingly angry causing the owner to refuse his business completely, which made the guy even more aggressive. Aggressive and loud enough to where you start looking them up for weapons if things go wild weasel. He left without getting violent even though he threatened he was going to beat the crap out of the owner.

Just to remind me to have some. I drove a 62 mph JBHunt truck for 7.5 yrs. It was kind of forced on me. Used to be my CB handle.
Then perhaps you can answer a question I have been wondering about. Do some companies put governors on semis so that they cannot exceed a certain speed? I have often wondered about this when I see one semi *trying* to pass another, but they are barely going 1 mph faster.

Yes, fuel economy and insurance are the reasons I'm sure...

Too close to the truth? Should I have used purple?

Sold cars for a little while. My worst nightmare was a customer who was incapable of making a decision. I'd hand them to one of the guys who had some patience for that. . . because I don't. The worst ones made a choice then came back the next day and changed their mind. Given a choice, I'd have choked those.
I feel you. Worked in sales etc for a power sports dealership for a spell. The level of entitlement the “ customers” thought they deserved was mind boggling. Spoiled children in adult bodies. Most of them. Which is fine as long as you don’t expect me to powder your a$$ for you. . Also. Word of advice. If you own truck, trailer and 2 scag mowers. Don’t go around telling everyone you’re a businessman/entrepreneur. Sorry. Did OP get his $ back ? lol

To be fair, the anger should be directed at the driver, not the company that installed the governor. The fault lies with the guy who ends up "holding hands" with a slightly slower truck for 5 miles because he is trying to pass a truck going 65 when his truck can eek out 65.5. Doing that with 50 4 wheelers behind you that are just trying to go the speed limit of 70 is a selfish, jerk move.

And I know we've had this argument before and there are a few drivers on here that DGAF. You may think its OK and we're just impatient, but you're still an entitled a-hole.

    There I said it. LOL
