Pairing down items from three homes to just one. That is why I disappeared. Hope to be finished by the end of the year.

Sorting, selling and donating is hard work. Did you know I have 15 measuring tapes... Discovered about 4,000 rounds in odd places as I sorted and consolidated. Also forgot about the M1 Abrams bore sighters in the loft. Haven't found the tank yet.

Asked my wife what her plans are for her high school cheerleading outfit.

    Anyone else downsizing?

Hey, i lost a "marital aid" in a driveway down by you a few years back. Any chance you found it and put it away somewhere?

I want a fifteen minute warning that my house is about to burn down. That'll fix my clutter problem.

Did that when we moved from Illinois, old and new houses about 1400 sq. ft. but the old one had a full finished basement. I also had a 24'x24' garage that was my wood shop, I replaced it with a 12'x16' lofted garden shed. Yes, we got rid of a ton of stuff but so happy here in Indiana I don't miss a thing. Jim.

We've done it a few times.

By the way, what IS your wife planning on doing with her high school cheerleading outfit?

    Just curious. :bacondance:

First downsizing was in 2010, sold a 2,200 sf home and moved into a 1,000.
Started getting rid of unnecessary things this summer anticipating a big move geographically and don't wanna pack up a bunch of stuff I haven't used in years.
I'm on the fence with trying to take my 2 freezers (stuffed full) and my long term stores (3 months worth) or just donating them to family, friends or food pantry and starting over when I get relocated.
I've moved 4 times prior in my life (not counting military), I pray this will be the last time.
    Good luck Sir.

We're downsizing now, have been for a few years. Funny how getting rid of 3 things means the wife needs to buy 2 more. My stuff is dwindling a lot faster than hers. A good example is that she graduated in 83 but we just got rid of her last box of computer punch cards last year. Yeah, we need to save those because they might come in handy (reference material). :ugh: :lmfao:

I have a winter project of unloading crap from my attic. There are things up there that have been there since the last move in 98. This will not be an enjoyable job.
