Aszerigan / Whitetail Trading are fantastic. I had never purchased an NFA item and Asz walked me through it, ordered what was necessary, and now I have 4 (Rugged Obsidian 45, Q Trash Panda, Dead Air Mask, and a Honey Badger SBR). The suppressors took 5 / 4 / 2.5 days to return and the SBR was...
Asz - I'm looking to get into the wonderful world of silence, would it be necessary to always use a "wipe," or is it really an piece to use to make it quieter?
Loading Hoosier Bullet Company .45 ACP 230 gn ball with shooters world clean shot powder. I believe I'm at 5.0gn of powder and it appears fine.
Going to work up Hornady SST 165 gn .308 for deer this year.
Grabbed one from Atkinson's in Greenwood early last week for $479 (typically would of waited, but hard to find at the moment). Was really looking forward to this one given all of the reviews and the included options. Went out yesterday evening with it and thought that I was going to have to...
Best morning ever on public land. Saw about 12 total including a 6/8 buck and a fork. The fork was really after a few does. Sadly the larger buck didn't care that I was over 100 yards away and refused to come say hello. Also, more squirrels than I could count that literally did not care that I...
I purchased the M92 from Walmart for $501 plus tax. Has the 24" octagonal barrel and is full blued. With my reloads, 158 gr JSPHP over 14.0 gr of 2400, I had a 1" center to center 3 shot group at 50 yards, which is all the range I had to work with. Dropped two little deer with it this year...
I prefer to buy a bag 5# or 10# of "b" size potatoes and shoot those. Anything larger than a .22 will make them explode and they are 100% biodegradable. Plus you can usually find them pretty cheap.
Lots of new stuff for the archery and gun seasons:
New to me Martin Tracer as well as arrows, release, targets, and other accoutrements.
New Rossi 92 in 357 magnum with the octagonal barrel. Still developing loads for it, but the gun does seem to cycle well.
New blind and some new camo...
Made the sojourn up to the show today. Was not crowded in the least. I like to go to the smaller shows like this as there may be the odd tidbit that you do not find in Indy or at the local shops. Here are my observations:
1. Ammunition was out of touch with the current day reality;
2. A lot...
It seemed that 5.56 was still high with the best I personally saw at .50c a round. x39 was obtainable at prices comparable to online dealers.
I personally grabbed 500 rounds of x39 for 160 with a MTM ammo can. Not the best deal in the world but decent for the current climate. Also grabbed a no...
Taking some new people, even one Chicago transplant, so that they can see a variety of guns. Personally I'm going on Sunday to see what did NOT sell during the assumed chaos.
