    • Close, most of what we run into involves lifting restrictions, making things so they'll only assemble one way, using common fasteners, material restrictions, and then idiot proofing designs like putting small through holes into the bottom of all blind tapped holes so that if someone fills the hole full of never seaze and then tries to crank a bolt down into the hole that it won't blow out the casting. A lot of it involves special tool design and gauge design so that there's only one way to use the tool or the gauge. If there's more than one way to use something you can pretty much so guarantee that it'll be used wrong. A lot of guys are really sharp, but it only takes one idiot to ruin every part you make.

I end up doing a lot of design changes to accomodate operators more than the actual design being bad.
I do not put my guns through the severe tests that many of the INGOers do, so mine will probably never malfunction. If someone's weapon fails because of a low quality part of cut rate manufacturing processes, I want to hear about that because I always read as much as I can before I make a particular purchase. I just would not slam or praise a particular firearm without having first hand knowledge of it. I would never say that RRA 1911s are junk because they are made inexpensively in the Phillipines. I have heard too many guys provide first hand experiences that say that they are not that bad of a weapon. They generally admit that they are not Kimbers or Ed Browns, but they are a reliable gun for a particular purpose. I too have seem some Taurus products that I would not personally buy just as I have some Rugers, Smiths and others. I personally think that the Glocks are about the ugliest firearms ever made, but would not trash them based on all that I have read about them. They do malfunction and they do occasionally break and occasionally a bad one slips past quality control. They are not that expensive. I just do not like the way they look and will probably never own one myself based solely on that. Enough rambling on my part. Thank you for the rep. If I could navigate this page better, I will give you one back, just for sounding like a decent level headed guy.
Thanks for the rep. I will see what I can do about the "clues." i have not thought about it for awhile
I have taken to the gun thing and become addicted. Luckily I have been able to keep it under control and pace myself. The 91/30 really opened my eyes as far as realizing it's not hard to really make a budget shooter other than a .22. I will be picking up another one in the near future to bastardize with aftermarket goodies.
thanks for the rep, i figured i would give some one here a fair deal on it before taking it any where else...... i personally have never seen another one have you?
Thanks for the rep. I hate to let that one go, but tax time is coming and the herd needs thinned a bit.
LOL. I can honestly say I've never been called THAT before. :D But it is true that I wear, or have worn, many hats. Thanks for the compliment...and the rep!
