TYT UV8000E Radio Vs. Baofeng BF-F8HP Radio Ham

As a member of the Indiana Guard Reserve, we have frequencies allocated for official use and our Brigade purchased the Boafeng UV-5ra’s for coms during our missions. They work really well, and can be programmed fairly quickly. As far as range, we used them in the Lawrence 4th of July parade...

What firearm did you purchase that was a waste of your money

Remington 770 in .270. Bought it new at Walmart for $280. Cannot get it to sight in the scope. At 50 yards the rounds are all over the paper. I stripped the scope mounts off and it's a safe queen.

Kim Jong-un orders country to be ready to use nuclear weapons "at any time"

Honestly, I'd be more worried about NK detonating a nuke at 250-300 miles above CONUS and EMPing the entire country. Kinda like in the book "One second After"

      Mini marathon tomorrow in Indy

I was there with the IGR and we ran the barricades between Tibbs and Holt. Had a couple of confused people but no negative encounters.

      Length question for .223/5.56 brass

I've got a quick question about the Length on .223/5.56 brass. The books I've read state max length of 1.760 inches, but is there an absolute minimum Length that can be used? After depriming and resizing some spent .223/5.56 brass, I'm finding some of it varies in Length from 1.739-1.759. Is...

      We banned guns & knives...

What really irks me, is that the courts have put "reasonably restrictions" to firearms in the form of regulations and laws. To whom are these rules and regs "reasonable'? And who exactly got to decide what was considered "common sense" as well. Was there a vote on it? Were people in the...

Expiration Dates on Canned Goods and Other Products

From what I understand the date on he can is more of a "sell by/Best Buy" date. The manufacturers place dates on the cans to force the grocery stores to rotate the stock they sell in order to sell more. If the manufacturers didn't put a date on it, then places like Walmart and Krogers would buy...

Mount Desert Island / Bar Harbor, Maine. Anybody vacationed there?

I'm originally from Maine. Bar Harbor is nice, but depending on when you go can be very pricey. If you go over the Fourth of July then expect to pay top dollar for everything. Seafood there is awesomely fresh.....like watching them take the lobsters off the boat and put them in the tank fresh...

If You're a Fan of the Marlin Model 60, You Might Appreciate This

I have a model 60 that my dad gave me for Christmas in either 85 or 86 that has the 18 shot tubular magazine. I love it.

What is with all of the ROBO calling?

I answered the phone once to an obvious spam caller "Hancock Country Sheriffs Office"...it quickly disconnected and did not get another call from that number.

      Food grade barrels

Me too. I'd be willing to drive there to pick up one or two.

Liberal Preppers Continue to Ready for Trump Apocalypse

Thing I found interesting about the article was the list of things they were accumulating....not one item was a self defense type weapon or a firearm, which brings me to this question....hypothecially, if there was something big and bad enough to where you would need to use this stuff, how...

      SP2022 magazine question "plus 2"

No problem. I love my 2022. Just be wary of the after-market mags may have bugs in them.
