We have import/export controls on tons of technology for national security reasons. This is no different.

China spying on us thru tiktok...hmm..i don't see anything to gain there other than how stupid people can be. Only main thing i have seen in the news is political type propaganda ads. In all honesty, i could careless if the Russians could actually take out all the satellites to end cell phones and the internet. Go back to how it was in the old days with local television and news papers. I was thinking in the aspect of closing a platform that many use to express themselves just becuase someone thinks differently and also the censorship that takes place on that platform.

Import and export of a tangible item is once again completly different then intellectual thoughts.

I don't believe in bans.

TikTok absolutely is a Trojan horse for the CCP.

The Federal Government will use such legislation to shut down digital platforms of any opponent.

Not really. The 1st amendment is about freedom of speech. That can be, has been and will continue to draw debate when it comes to words, pictures, expression and such. What is detrimental to individual rights is also debatable and will continue. There comes a time when the safety of a nation should be strongly considered, especially when society as a whole cannot make decide.

The difference between the 1st and 2nd is clear. The 2nd is straight forward, “you cannot infringe”. No room for interpretation and certainly does not interfere with the safety of a nation; actually is in place to protect a nation.

We must remember where we are, where this discussion is taking place. yes, we are most civil and mostly practice safe lifestyles in our lives and family lives. One must remember that “we” have been fighting a losing battle for decades; just look at where we are. Actually the point you missed is the government does ban imports of guns and ammo from foreign countries, why is this different?

I was speaking the lefts argument that guns are dangerous so they should be banned. Social media can be dangerous like you said in many more forms but still isn't just reason to remove a platform. There is no way tiktok is a threat to the saftey our nation! That is such a lefty thing to claim. If china is using it to steal top-secret info why the heck would it be tied to social media in the first place? Also Every platform does this even your streaming networks that you watch t v on do, so we revert back to cavemen? Climbing a tree can be dangerous, so should that be banned? Where does it stop?

I firmly believe Tik Tok was and is a massive security hazard for our society preying on naive and I would not loose sleep if it disappeared tomorrow. I also believe the government is lead by a bunch of traitors and I do not believe the attempt to ban this is in our benefit, especially when many other major security hazards exist.

And you're talking to tangible item versus some social media totally different topics. How is tiktok a national security threat because the chinese own it and they are fishing for marketing tactics? When we have our own facebook it does the exact same thing

I'm definitely concerned and the data that the remaining is for marketing tactics. If they ban tiktok they need to ban all of them because they all do it for their own monetary gain.

It is not a violation of the second and even an ultra conservative courts would rule so. I disagree with restrictions on arms imports but they are constitutional.

In WWII the US government would have been fine with the Germans sending over propaganda newspapers to distribute around the country? I think not.

My bone is the CCP is waging a war that most are too ignorant to even know exists and one of their fronts is to create division among the people in the US.

That patriot act was an act of treason in my opinion. Anything that gives a government power to spy on its own people is evil and treasonous
