Looks like the rules and legislative procedure committee should be starting in a little bit… I have to go back to work or I’d be following along. We will see what happens with HB 1084.
Just the senate version of what we saw in the house. The Senate rules committee has to approve it before the senate can vote on it.

Editing this post with more content since this came before the full senate hearing today

Mad moms showed up, Liz Brown is talking about a non gun bill.

And HB 1084 CCR passed the senate.

And with that, that wraps up our legislative slate this year. All the ones we wanted to, passed.

    House Bill 1084

    Privacy of firearms financial transactions.

(With SB14 Statehouse Carry tossed on)

    House Bill 1235

Prohibited causes of action concerning firearms.

    House Bill 1143

Disposal of firearms via trade for new equipment.

And while we were not following them, a couple hunting bills passed.

    Senate Bill 241

    Taking bobcats.

    Senate Bill 189

    Locating and recovering wild game.

All of these require the Governors signature.

But for now, that wraps up my Kibitzing the Indiana Legislature for this season. I will start up again here next January!

    Time for a victory lap! @KellyinAvon @Bollorollo @GuyRelford @Kirk Freeman @JAL @HoughMade

Thank you for the synopsis Moose. All in all this was a pretty good year. Would we have liked more? Yes. Do we say that every year? Yes. Would we have liked 1084 to have a bigger stick? Yes. Was 1235 damn important to get passed? Yes.

Is there more to do next year? Yes.

    . . .
The importance of HB 1084 and the work by @GuyRelford and @KellyinAvon cannot be emphasized enough . . .

This just emerged today regarding a secret portal called the Domestic Security Alliance Council (DSAC) the FBI is using to spy on and assemble dossiers on U.S. Citizens and Residents politically opposed to the Biden Administration. Information is being gathered from 650 of the largest companies in the world based on the kinds of key words, key phrases, and MCC that appeared in the leaked KeyBank presentation slide. No warrant or court order. Congressman Jim Jordan speaks about it in the video posted here. More to come with additional videos. This is beyond Orwellian.

It isn't only about denying firearm and ammunition purchases, or debanking companies and merchants in firearm and firearm related commerce. They're creating a list of Citizens and Residents considered Domestic Violent Extremists (DVE) to be continuously surveilled for engaging the following (examples, not a comprehensive list which is extremely long).
    • Buying a bible or other religious texts
    • Opposing Gun Control Legislation
    • Opposing Biden's "Open Border" Policy
    • Buying a firearm or ammunition (yup -- building a list of gun owners)
    • Opposing Additional Land Use Restrictions
    • Opposing COVID lockdowns and Vaccine Mandates

The importance of HB 1084 (continued):
@GuyRelford & @KellyinAvon Further testimony regarding FBI and other 3-letter agencies getting banking information without warrants and weaponizing it to not only debank those who oppose the Biden Administration's policies, but pursuing other means in addition to that in order to persecute them.

Warm and fuzzy I am not. Well, at least we know what fight we are in now.

Rep Jordan was right when he said the Domestic Security Alliance Council sounds Orwellian.

Are we assuming that all of these get enacted? Any veto potential that would necessitate action to override?

Correct, however, here in Indiana it is a simple majority to override

Edit: and there is no pocket veto like at the national level… It’s a goes into law without the governor signature

Understood. But IIRC, last session, IGA did have to convene to cast a veto override vote.
