I was texting with some friends the other night and some pictures were posted of some of their S&W revolvers and I felt like I had to add to the conversation. So here are my N frame and K frame families.

The N frames are a 28-2, a Second Model Hand Ejector in 44 Special with elk grips, a 24-3 with a set of Ahrends rosewood grips and a M1917 Brazilian contract with some Sile grips I found on eBay.

The K frames are a pre Model 18 Combat Masterpiece, a Model 65 and a post war M&P 38 Special round butt.

I apologize for the messy work bench but I as in a hurry and didn’t take the time to clean the top.

How do you like the Kirst conversion? Think about getting one for my 1851.
I like it a lot but it's a little finicky. I like the way the 1851 looks and points but I wanted a cartridge gun and thought it would be a fun project. It's definitely more finicky on loading and ejecting cases than an SAA but I have read that was true with original conversions as well. It runs well with .38 special brass but I bought some starline .38 short colt brass and did some "authentic" loads and the rim on the starline brass was too thick for some reason and did not run very well.
