Off topic of smokers....what does everybody use for storing their nice chef knives?
We do the same as @hoosierdaddy1976 , magnet bar on wall.
We have had this one for 5 years and it works great: Amazon product ASIN B0014WNVHC
It holds 2- Wustof 6" chef, 1- Wustof 7" Santoku, 1- Wustof 3" paring, 1 Wustof 4-1/2" utility, 1 Chicago Cutlery 3-1/2" paring, and a pair of scissors. None have ever fallen off, the magnets are strong.

    Pellet grill/smoker owners

My daughter called me a few minutes ago and said the goshen walmart had the 20lb pitboss freedom blend pellets for $5 a bag. Freedom blend is charcoal/hickory blend.
I would assume most walmarts had this deal until they were gone. I had her get me 10 bags. Last year they had fruit blend for 4bux a bag which i had got 12 then.

Haven't gave that a try yet. I have smoked jalapeño peppers and made powder though. My sportsman1100sp came with a big ass jerky rack.
The jerky made with ground is way easier to prepare. I prefer sliced, but everyone else in the house seems to like the ground more.

I have dried and ground jalapenos, never thought to smoke them first.

I smoked at 225 for 4 hours. Buddy used his dehydrater but i think they could dry out if smoked a bit longer.
I assume you have that jerky making kit thing to make the strips...have you made any sticks? I don't have any of the making equipment yet.

Guys, at another walmart, they also had another blend for $5. I forget what it's called but daughter said it had maple an something else in it. Think she said this was at the michigan city walmart. You need to check the bags for moisture then dryed out damage. Daughter said a couple bags had really hard spots and tge some she could feel like saw dust. I think walmart had skids and skids of pellets an now trying to liquidate old stuff. She bought 15 more bags of the 2 kinds of blends. She must have 35 bags of pellets in her garage now.
