Good morning, I'm a reporter and gun owner. I have heard from a couple people struggling to get IMPD property room to return firearms. We are working on a story that will air next week, if you are having a similar issue please contact me.

Great to hear! Please let us know when the story will air (and please provide a link if there will be a printed version or a podcast of it.)

No kidding. I forgot of this. Now I'm curious.... We are only one extra week out from his original "next week" timeline. Maybe it's still in the works. Maybe there's some issue between IMPD or Indy and the news room that's delayed the final product. Heck, maybe Mr. Essex creates 10 stories per week and only one makes the cut for final production and this story didn't make the cut. Maybe IMPD returned all the property to the rightful owners and this story is moot.

When is this happening? Specific day and time that it'll aired?

Looking forward to hear your findings and how this will reach to our "authorities" SMH

An individual doesn't need a lawyer to file a petition for returned property in court. All you have to do is a lil research on how to create the proper looking form just like a high paid attorney uses.

I'll be interested in the article.

I still think requiring a 'ballistics' check on a gun that is not evidence is a 4th amendment violation.

If someone gets their car bumped in a parking lot, are we keeping the car for a year to run tire print checks?

Sounds like a bunch of BS from IMPD. "Gee whiz, we didn't know there was a problem! Nobody told us!" Yeah, right...
