A lot to be learned from that tragedy.

First of which was laying down your life saving tool. Also points out a weak link in the chest holster that a lot of western hunters wear.

He doesn’t know how to operate a G*$k?
That’s what I was thinking but then again he’s a bow hunter…. That doesn’t equal a firearm enthusiast. I’m sure the adrenaline dump didn’t help the situation.

In bear country both men should have been carrying. The guy who hunts with the bow can't figure out a Glock?Wonder if he can drive a car...
I mean there are people that wouldn’t know which end of the hammer to use these days.. if I handed someone a pistol and they have never used one and tossed in an angry grizzly…. I’d bet a high percentage of people would not operate it correctly. Not to mention that angry grizzly is currently tearing apart another human…

I have walked up on grizzlies 3 times in NW Wyoming while hunting. It WILL get your attention in a hurry and make your realize that you are NOT the biggest bad-A on the mountain. ALWAYS carried a sidearm because I simply did not trust bear spray as a deterrent.

If you know who Jimmy Craig in Bloomfield is, he's dang lucky to be alive.

G20 Glocks are the modern day favored guide pistol in bear country. Out west and Alaska.

The 10mm Glock rivals 41 magnum in power, while being more recoil controllable. Not to mention the higher capacity combined with much easier/faster reloading.

15 rounds of 10mm bear and yearling would be toast.

I don't know that I'm ever going out west, hunting or whatever. Still, I'm in the market for a Gen5 G20 MOS. If anyone has seen one in the wild?

Never say never. To go along with the learning to be had from this story, it would pay to be ahead of the loop on the hardware and experience/training with the tools needed?
