It appears to me the attacker used 2 plumbing pipes with caps taped to a piece of plywood. Likely improvised ammunition as well, probably muzzle loading.

Everything I've read suggests Abe has no vitals.

Not easy to watch… evil takes many forms and vigilance and preparedness sometimes just aren’t enough to defeat it.

And other times, a “gun-free” society leads to complacency. The shooter faced no resistance whatsoever until after firing his makeshift weapon.

    Take heed, gun control advocates.

To be fair, isn't the entirety of Japan a GFZ? With under 900 murders in a country of a population of 125 million, they are not the same as our GFZ.
as they shouldn't be. They do no have the same culture. There are more differences between us than similarities

What the **** does this have to do with the story?

Former Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, an arch-conservative and one of the country's most divisive figures, was shot and critically wounded...

That's an asian cultural thing. When we were in HK in '19 it was no different then before the "pandemic".

In Hawaii pre scamdemic. Almost all the Japanese tourists at Pearl Harbor had masks and long sleeves. I said to the better half they may be sensitive to radiation.

Just the routine 21st-century AP slant added to the Kyodo News story, I expect.

Wonder if there won't be some suicides on the security team? Isn't that the honorable thing to do in that society?
