Don't know if there is an interrogation training manual that all LEO go by, if so I'd like to read it.

I was stopped once at the end of my driveway by two undercover deputies when the gardener and I were going into town. Really wish they had gotten their badges out sooner as it caused a few tense seconds. They were looking for the local drug dealer, but the only thing that gave me any idea they were cops was the unmarked Charger they were driving.

    That could have ended badly.

Until the other guys are shooting guns near you as you canoe by you are not even close to deliverance. Heck, I do not think the sheriff even went back in where the shooting occurred, the revenuers never came back from there. LOL

I cannot believe the DNR isn't fining that farmer daily for the contamination that excavator is doing to the river. People drop a snowmobile into the open water and they get major fines for just contact with moving water. Great story, sorry about the ending of the guy, but positive contact with LE.

You assume they know about it.

You are correct, I did make that assumption. Heck, dad and I built an air boat and took it to the Robin's Ditch out in the middle of nowhere, down a 1/2 mile then back to the truck and trailer. There stand a DNR and he writes tickets for no life preservers (this was July or August and the water was all of 6 - 8 inches deep) no numbers on boat. Again find it hard to believe DNR doesn't know about an excavator left in the middle of the river.

Maybe if the farmer left the semi trailer by the river and a CO drove by and saw it, he might know about the excavator.

If you cant easily see the rig from the road, its not that likely that they know about it. Unless somebody reported it or they decided to go for a float down the river like you.

The idea of revenuers in isolated areas is a myth.

There are no revenuers in the back areas.

I dead person no banjos or pig squealing and didn't go to jail sounds like a good trip. That's going to be tough to get the excavator out if its broke down hard to tell size but looks like a 30000-pound machine, I been able to pull myself out when could reach some solid ground but in the water was a mistake, he must been sure the gold was there or trying to redirect the river flow.
