I don't think anyone in Washington has a clue how we in the "middle" class survive. Nor do they seem to care. They don't care about gas prices, they have drivers, don't own their cars or maintain them. Their evenings out probably cost more than we make in a month (bring home/net). They don't and won't feel the pain, nor will they go hungry. We raise and sell freezer beef and freezer pork. Have used our pork dates for this year, our cattle processing date for cattle isn't until Sept or Oct. We will be fine unless we lose electricity and our freezers thaw.

The democrats have spent 40 years to develop a voting base that is on their team no matter what. It will be interesting how this goes down…
Indeed but all the food stamps and gas cards in the world are worthless when the shelves and pumps are empty. I'd enjoy watching from the sidelines with righteous amusement when the sheeple finally turn and bite the hand that can no longer feed them.

When you run down policy issues they may well rate conservatively on all issues save for abortion. They will not vote against it.

We are all too young to recall just how bad it once was. I support the ability of small farmers themselves to sell unpasteurized milk but do not trust the dairy industry to do the same. Read this to see just how bad it was.

    I get it.

Same. A local farm like Traders Point Creamery or Fair Oaks could easily do it safely selling direct. Maybe even partnering with local mom and pop stores with old school daily deliveries. But no way in hell I'd buy it at a big box store. Too many idiots and delays in distribution.

And of course the requisite warnings on each bottle. (consume at your own risk, etc.)

Don't worry guys, if you can't buy food the government will just, like, send us checks so we can buy more food. Problem solved!

One year, doubled gas prices, a war, and the president telling people there won't be food soon. Miss Trump yet? Regret that 2020 vote yet?
WhatchootalkinboutWillis? This is all Trump's fault because collusion and mean tweets and stuff.

Real unemployment rates were double-digit when Obama was up for re-election, and he got reelected anyway.

The link between policies and results has been broken in peoples' minds.

They don't know which hand to bite.

What do you think of walking away from and dissolving the central state?

I wonder where the country stands when it comes to privately owned vs corporate owned farms. How many farmers are actually corporate employees in a way?

I think the question is how many acres are farmed by private farmers vs. corporate entities.

The same goes with the number of cows, chickens, etc.

When I was a kid you could still buy real whole milk right from the farm. Never even considered the tax code effect.
You still can, well sorta. You don't buy the milk, you buy a "share" of a cow. Each share entitles you to so much milk.

Or some stores, usually Amish will sell it "not for human consumption".

My friend I am yet to be convinced that enough morons actually voted for this turd.
Covid (yeah Covid) was the key. It brought us the mail in vote which in turn was used as the tool to put this puppet in place. Scam on top of scams.

And those farms are addicted to government money, no matter how much they say differently. But quite frankly, there are no farmers alive that know how to exist in a government free market.
That’s how the tax code has structured it. Pay so much in taxes/permits/fees that it’s not profitable, but get government kickbacks/refunds/program money that puts you in the black for the year. It’s a clever setup that ensures compliance, because the business can’t survive without the government “help” each year.

    Yes!

First time that ever happened I believe. When the economy was/is bad, the incumbent always loses, until that time. I was pretty confident he was gonna lose too. I thought he would lose second term and Trump would lose first term, and Trump win second term. (Economy booming pre Covid) I no longer trust my gut or make predictions. Not so sure it’s me tho……
